About the Project
The North Luangwa Conservation Programme (NLCP) is a partnership programme with the Zambian Government through the Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW). NLCP’s mission of linking livelihoods and landscape is central to its workforce and partners working within the North Luangwa Landscape to ensure its security and sustainability.
About the Position
NLCP, with support from the Light Foundation, seeks to improve the livelihoods of marginalised resident custodians from Chikwa, Chifunda and Nabwalya Chiefdoms through the provision of a teaching scholarship aimed at enhancing educational outcomes in the landscape.
Objective
The main objective of this scholarship is to improve the well-being of the local communities through teaching skills development / training.
Specific Area for Support
The scholarship will support the following area of study:
• Diploma in Education (teaching at a reputable college or University)
Your Profile
Eligibility
Eligible applicants must meet the following criteria:
• Volunteers (volunteering at the school as a teacher) preferably females
• Zambian citizen with Green National Registration Card
• Resident of Nabwalya or Chikwa or Chifunda Chiefdoms
• School leavers / volunteers with full grade 12 school certificate
• 35 years old or below
• Candidate willing to serve in the landscape for a period of 3 years.
• Candidate with 5 O level credits or better in English and Mathematics is highly desired / preferred
• Candidate willing to pursue Full-Time learning

• Certified photocopy of grade 12 school results or certificate
• A recommendation letter from head of institution if you are volunteering
• A photocopy of candidate’s NRC and parents’ or guardian’s NRC
• A photocopy of an admission letter from a reputable Teaching College is desirable if available
